01 — About

Positioning

I build models for real-world problems, where performance has to hold beyond the validation split.

I finished a BSc in Computing at the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing and stayed on for a master's in Biomedical Engineering — a deliberate move. The interesting problems in machine learning right now aren't in the architecture; they're in what happens when you point a model at clinical data that is messy, imbalanced, and attached to someone's outcome.

Brain Tumour Segmentation — Bachelor's Thesis

2025 — 2026
U-NetFC-DenseNetBraTS 2020TensorFlow

Compared U-Net and FC-DenseNet architectures for tumour segmentation on the BraTS 2020 MRI dataset. Built the full pipeline — preprocessing, data augmentation, training, and evaluation against Dice score, precision and recall.

Medication Non-Adherence Risk Model

6th place · 2026
AI4Health CroatiaPredictive modellingClinical data

Placed 6th in the AI4Health Croatia Innovation Competition with a model that identifies patients at risk of not taking their medication as prescribed — a problem that quietly undoes a large share of otherwise effective treatment.

03

Diocletian Go — Čuvar Palače

3rd of 50+ · 2026
SheepAI HackathonARGPS geofencing3D

An augmented-reality mobile web app that uses GPS geofencing to trigger a 3D Roman guide and contextual audio as you walk through Diocletian's Palace in Split. Third place among more than fifty teams.

04

Cross-Exchange Arbitrage Trading Bot

Top 25% · 2026
AlgoTrade HackathonPythonWebSockets

Ranked 18th of 75 teams with a Python WebSocket bot combining cross-exchange arbitrage, ETF fair-value estimation, and latency-aware IOC execution — the whole thing decided by microseconds.

05

Stroke Risk Prediction

2025 — 2026
Data analysisPredictive modellingStatistics

Analysed clinical patient data and built predictive models for stroke risk, using statistical analysis to test how demographic, lifestyle and medical variables actually relate to stroke occurrence.

PWAService workerOffline-first

A note-taking progressive web app built to work with no connection at all — service worker plus application cache, installable to the home screen.

03 — Experience

Where I've worked

Machine Learning Intern

Jan — Jun 2026 Pontis Technology
  • Worked with a computer vision team to annotate, review and prepare pharmaceutical image datasets for model development.
  • Owned dataset quality end to end — the part of the pipeline that decides how good the model is allowed to get.

Co-founder

May 2026 — present DajSrce
  • Co-founded a nonprofit volunteering platform connecting citizens, volunteers, businesses and organisations with communities in need.

Sep 2023 — Jul 2026 University of Zagreb · FER
  • Thesis: comparing U-Net and FC-DenseNet for brain tumour segmentation on BraTS 2020.

ABC BootCamp, Silicon Valley

Jul 2026 Rising Star Award
  • Led Team MedFit through the programme's startup pitching competition, developing and presenting a preventive wellness platform built on genetic and health data.
  • Received the Rising Star Award for leadership, initiative and contribution across the programme.

III Gymnasium Split (MIOC)
